Wikileaks video down memory hole? |
|
Just checked nytimes.com. Link at bottom of page to article, Psychologists Explain Iraq Airstrike Video. Glad they explained it. Clears everything up. Thanks. Nothing on editorial page. Maybe tomorrow? Doubt it. Move along.
War may be hell, but unless the NYT and other MSM report on that hell, it isn't really hell, it isn't really happening, or it doesn't really matter. Glad that's cleared up as well.

1. It's a serious thing--but, it did happen in 2007, and as far as I've heard |
|
it had been, or is being, investigated. I'm not sure what you want to have happen, at this point.

6. If it hasn't been, then it should be. If it HAS been, then...that's about it, as far |

as legal issues go surrounding this incident. Unless for some reason they re-open the case. Again, I'm not sure what people want to have happen. More outrage? More media attention? Apologies? Restitution? Court martials? Public hangings? Seems to me that people are processing this, still. And it may be that the consensus is: this was a tragic mistake, and it's a shame, but mistakes are made in war. Not saying that's the correct conclusion, but I'm willing to bet that's how it will go down.

7. The investigation was a lie though.. |
|
So it needs to be reopened and those who covered up the truth prosecuted.

8. And the current NYT story you mention is clearly a propaganda piece urged by the military. |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-08-10 02:29 PM by TexasObserver
If you read it, you'll see how it uses military shrinks and those in league with them to explain to citizens why they shouldn't be so upset watching their troops thoughtlessly slaughter people who probably didn't do anything wrong.
Nothing to see here. Move along.
The military and its contractors need the public to ignore what they plainly see and hear. This is classic psy ops by the military, and the target is the American people. Disseminating disinformation is their favored method. Obfuscation is their second favorite.
