does anyone had unresolved issues with verizon? |
|
I am asking this because i am considering a class action suit. I have been improperly billed for a service i had disconnected months ago and verizon is jerking me around and refusing to acknowledge my claim. If i can find enough people who are dissatisfied with verizon and has unresolved outstanding issues ple let me know. If enough of you respond i will consult a law firm specializing in class action suits to see what they can do. thanks to all

1. Doesn't your state or county have a consumer protection agency? |
|
I've used them in several states and they are very useful. here's an example of a good one: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/consumer.htm

but i am up against the big boys and in the end donations count over the consumer. I have even filed with the fcc and asked my senator to look into it. I think that only a legal threat will make them sit up and take notice.

7. Donations? The consumer protection agencies are usually appointed |
|
by the Board of Supervisors and are not political. Try telling your problem to them first, they will probably be very helpful. Assuming that a Federal Level Regulatory Agency will help with a single consumer billing issue is nuts. Likewise, a class action lawsuit will only slap Verizon's wrist and enrich some lawyers. If you want help, contact a County consumer protection agency or similar group.

my "contract" expires. We just paid an extra hundred dollars this month. Not sure why, Didn't go over the minutes, had no weird charges but they claim we owe them for "data services" and they shut off my phone till I paid the money. I felt like I was extorted.

6. Not unresolved but I dropped them years ago because of unethical practices |
|
I had basic Verizon service. Sales guy calls offering additional phone options at no extra cost. I say over and over, "no extra cost", he repeats over and over "no extra cost". Next month, bill comes showing my new increased monthly bill. I call right away and drop it.. I can tell from service person's manner, that she was accustomed to getting calls like mine.

you would think that retaining customers would be preferable to screwing one customer and losing hundreds more.
