Foes of tea party movement to infiltrate rallies

By VALERIE BAUMAN, Associated Press Writer Valerie Bauman, Associated Press Writer – 56 mins ago

ALBANY, N.Y. – Opponents of the fiscally conservative tea party movement say they plan to infiltrate and dismantle the political group by trying to make its members appear to be racist, homophobic and moronic.

Jason Levin, creator of http://www.crashtheteaparty.org , said Monday the group has 65 leaders in major cities across the country who are trying to recruit members to infiltrate tea party events for April 15 — tax filing day, when tea party groups across the country are planning to gather and protest high taxes.

"Every time we have someone on camera saying that Barack Obama isn't an American citizen, we want someone sitting next to him saying, 'That's right, he's an alien from outer space!'" Levin said.

Tea party members said the backlash comes from ignorance.

snip...
"Do I think every member of the tea party is a homophobe, racist or a moron? No, absolutely not," Levin said. "Do I think most of them are homophobes, racists or morons? Absolutely."

The site manifesto says they want to dismantle the Tea Party by nonviolent means. "We have already sat quietly in their meetings, and observed their rallies," the site said.

8. I smell a double blind troll (not the OP, the idea)
Look, the Teahadists want nothing more than to be able to blame any racism and bigotry (and bad signs) on Liberals, so this does nothing but help them. Horrible idea, honestly, as they make themselves look bad already.

It's like dressing like a fish to prove that a tuna is a fish. Just dumb, completely unnecessary, and will backfire. Which is why I suspect that this story is nothing but a BS attempt to allow them (the teabaggers) to point and say "see, I told you it was them librals not us hugh paytriates this whole time!"

I've got $20 that says Levin is actually a conservative.

this doesn't sound like something a real progressive would do simply because it's redundant. They've already proven that they are racist and ignorant. the public at large even knows their true nature, which is why it would be convenient to have a deflection.now every time a racist appears on camera at a tea party, the powers-that-be can go back to this website and claim that their presence was merely a liberal tactic.

to increase paranoia within an organization, say that you are going to infiltrate but you don't.

It's better to do a whisper campaign that there are FBI/CIA/Illuminati infiltrators. Feed their paranoia and watch them tear each other apart.

and other militia/survivalist types anyway. It's really common among right wing fringe types I've talked to, that they think they are in constant danger of being taken over by the NWO, or teh ghey agenda, or liberal brainwashing, or non-white poor people, or fill-in-the-blank. I wish I were joking, although I do know that I am generalizing a little.

"Opponents of the fiscally conservative tea party movement say they plan to infiltrate and dismantle the political group by trying to make its members appear to be racist, homophobic and moronic."

"Every time we have someone on camera saying that Barack Obama isn't an American citizen, we want someone sitting next to him saying, 'That's right, he's an alien from outer space!'" Levin said.

So the birther isn't racist but the person claiming he is a space alien is?

The website looks like it was created by a 12 year old, lending more weight to the idea that this is a teahadist a double-reverse false flag group.

Real liberals LOVE the teabaggers. They are driving moderates to the Democratic party in droves.

If the Klan can have rallies (letting the world see them for what they are), then so can the teaparty twits. Silencing anyone's speech is more offensive than the most offensive speech ever could be.

For instance, advocating the overthrow of the government is also known as inciting seditious activity. I've seen them tread pretty close to this line.

I certainly believe in 1st amendment rights but people are mistaken to think it allows anything to be said anywhere. There are limits.

Everybody at the health care town halls. But oddly enough, nothing in the link in the OP said anything about "shouting down" the tea party people, just being on hand to point out their racist, homophobic, ethnocentric views. If the tea party people cannot handle that, perhaps they should keep their demonstrations to private areas so they will not be disturbed by other's political opinions.

36. actually, I agree for that reason as well
I don't have a problem with counter-protesting, but I don't necessarily believe in abridging their rights any more than I'd want them to do to me (which some of them do, sadly).

The problem is when political "opinion" is not only fabricated, but persists despite considerable proof otherwise, and is promoted by the "sympathetic" media.

Yelling racist and moronic things not only makes you own that crap you're shouting, but creates the idea that evil outsiders are trying to wrongfully harrass teapartiers. be warned, the people pulling the strings are smarter than you think.

think about it. the tea party "movement" is based on the exploitation of stupid white people. Stupid white people have a habit of saying things that don't look good on tv, it's all but impossible to train ALL of them to code their racism in politically correct terms like Sarah Palin. A fake leftist infiltration allows you dismiss unfortunate (though inevitable) verbal outbursts as the work of communist/jihadi saboteurs.

not that anyone's caring, since apparently our citizens have lost 20 IQ points on average since 2000.

It'll be because the liberals made them look bad. :eyes:

Especially since the web page has "Are you a Capitalist, or are you a Socialist" hyperbole that is so teabagger.

and who is this Jason Levin, exactly? I get the O'Keefe-dressed-like-a-pimp vibe just by reading this.

Edited on Tue Apr-13-10 09:49 AM by Minnesota_Lib
I can see it now: all of those YouTube videos showing these morons mouthing ignorance and insanity will be followed by posts claiming the subjects are just posing as teabaggers to make the movement look bad and linking to that website and AP story as "proof." All the talking heads on Faux and elsewhere will attribute every televised teabag nutcase to this "plot"....and they have all the proof they need.

I also love the way in which this plot was hatched just last week and then Mr. Levin amazingly managed to recruit at vast network of "operatives" in every major U.S. city in a matter of days LOL! Sorry, not buying it.

This guy is either a PR guy working for rightwing corporate interests, a GOP "Rovian" dirty trickster...or a complete idiot and tool.

That's right he's an alien from outer space.      Even if it don't work, its funny as hell. I would love to be the one saying that line with a pair of thick glasses on and a walmart shopping bag with a flower skirt and a striped sweater. But even with that my suntan wouldn't fool them. I bet a lot of people could come up with a crazy line that would drive them crazy. Like his grandparents are really salmon who swam in the wrong direction during spawning season.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

62. Whether it's really made of "infiltrators" OR RWers, it's making the teabaggers crazy...
judging by one freeper's comment:

"People that attend should bring some zip ties and make citizen’s arrests when they see anyone getting violent or using racial slurs. Turn them over to the police immediately. It will be evident who is to blame.

If you do not, look to have a riot break out and racial slurs thrown right into the waiting arms of the MSM cameras.

Prepare for this or the Tea Party Movement is over."

----------------------------------
The infiltrators say they will NOT use violence. So the teabaggers may very well be "arresting" other real teabaggers. They'll be shooting themselves in the foot. Either way, a wrench has now been thrown into the teabaggers' rallies and I like it.

68. Take your infiltration and run with it
(xposted from a similar thread)

The teabaggers are gearing up for "tax freedom day" and are holding rallies, most likely on the 17th. Check your local wingnuttery for details.

So here's what you do.

Go to the rally, just like any True Patriot would. Get other friends to go along, or meet you there.

Look for people with misspelled or racist signs.

Loudly and angrily begin denouncing them for being a liberal communist infiltrator to your group, "Out to tarnish REAL AMERICANS and the TRUTH THEY BELIVE!! You ain't one of us!! You're tryin' ta make us look like idiots! You spelled that wrong so you could get your picture in the LIBERAL PRESS so everyone will THINK WE'RE DUMB! WE AIN'T FALLIN FOR THAT NO SIREE!!"

You get bonus points for every non-friend who joins in.
