By MARIANNE WHITE, Canwest News ServiceApril 11, 2010

The wave of sex scandals battering the Roman Catholic Church is only the tip of the iceberg, claims a victims' rights advocate in Quebec who has gathered more than 400 testimonies from men and women who say they, too, were abused by priests.

France Bédard, 62, who heads an organization that assists victims of sexually abusive priests, says many of them will break their silence in the coming months.

"More revelations will be made because many victims now have the strength to come forward," she said.

1. The only thing that will stop this is breaking the silence
and costing the church its massive treasury for sacrificing the lives of its children to protect bad priests.

It will also help all victims to erase the shame.

It wasn't you. It was them.

4. Some fuckin country should have the balls to sue the church
On behalf of it's abused citizens.

John Paul II and Ratzinger were deeply with
pedophiles and it all needs to come and justice needs to be paid.

9. Half of my ex's family should be speaking out.
Hardcore Catholic family of ten, the family priest went through every boy, oldest to the youngest. :(

6. This is what will bring down this organization
While the sheep in the pews still feign listening to the old men in skirts, they won't keep filling the collection plate with money to pay for Father Feelup's activities. Already, Catholics are reluctant to send one of the fewer children they have these days into religious vocations to be preyed upon by the deviants.

7. That's it. Force the Pope to sell off his assets to pay the victims
and put up the Vatican for sale - or sell it back to Italy to pay off the victims. Then shut down the Catholic Church and put all the sex offender priests in prison where they belong, and the upper echelon for conspiracy as well.

The Catholic Church should put up about $2 trillion to pay victims worldwide.

8. face it. the catholic church is basically an international child sex ring.
it uses the snake oil and mumbo jumbo front to enable the unfettered buggering of youth.

It is a corporation. Corporations are people now. Let's see a crackdown, some trials and stiff sentences.

tee hee! he said "crackdown" and "stiff"! tee hee

11. Poll suggest two million Canadians know someone.
At least two million Canadians personally know someone, a friend, relative or acquaintance, who has been sexually assaulted by a Roman Catholic priest, suggests a new national poll.

It also suggests that a majority of Canadians, and even a majority of Roman Catholics, believe Pope Benedict XVI is guilty of covering up abuse by pedophile priests.

The Ipsos Reid survey, carried out last week for Canwest News Service and Global Television, shows that child abuse scandals — which for years have troubled the Catholic Church and now directly threaten the Pope — are deeply felt in Canada, where Catholics and non-Catholics alike are unhappy with the Church's handling of the crisis.

"Two million people is a shocking number, admitting that they personally know someone sexually abused by a Roman Catholic priest," says John Wright, senior vice president of Ipsos Reid Pubic Affairs. "This is not something that can evade scrutiny."

So this is a ticking timebomb.

12. Bring this "church" to its knees.
It deserves to be exposed for that it is: a dysfunctional mess more obsessed with protecting its image than with human lives.
