Let the Tea baggers yell "Socialism" all they want. I'm glad we don't have to clean THIS (photos)up
A few minutes ago my street filled up with police and city service vehicles.
We have a water main break that is buckling the side walks, and damaging property.
The rest is in the headline.

I'm throwing in the dandelion because it looks nice and clean, just like our street will be after the Socalist "Government Nazi Dictators" get it fixed again and restore our freedom from flooding.

1. You're missing the point entirely.
A PRIVATELY OWNED water main wouldn't break at all, don't you see? The market wouldn't allow it. And if a water main breaks because of sabotage or ungrateful workers, then people take their business to a water main company that has a strict policy against water main breakage. Sheesh! EDUCATE YOURSELF!

;)

7. Exactly!
And if you don't like it, you can just educate yourself. C'mon, take a little pride in your bootstraps!

5. Those are nice pictures...
Even though the subject matter is not positive, they are good pictures. The Dandelion picture is really cool.

Yes, the teabaggers want government "out of our lives". That is complete and utter bullshit. Teabaggers just want government to do exactly what they want them to do. They want government to stop taxing, yet they want roads and other infrastructure that keeps their lives convenient. They don't want "tyranny" but they want to decide which two consenting adults can marry, and what women can do with their own bodies. They also want to decide who can serve our country in the military based on what sexual orientation makes them comfortable.

I think that there are major problems within the government that need to be addressed but I think the main problem within government has always been the influence of money from powerful private interest which corrupt the will of the majority of the people. It isn't a problem inherent to government authority, it is one inherent to concentration of wealth into the hands of a small group.

10. Thank you. I like taking photos. Sometimes
they even win something (monthly DU contests)

Your description is perfect.
They want all this and also the right to not be able to spell.

6. Great post by cal04 : A Tea Party 10-point guide to fighting socialism in your own life
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=389&topic_id=8128358

article from http://www.openleft.com/diary/18201/a-tea-party-10point-guide-to-fighting-socialism-in-your-own-life

includes the following:

(1) If you live in subsidized housing, like Gregory Lee Giusti , move. Into the street, if necessary. But not to a shelter. All shelters receive government support one way or another-either getting money directly from the government, using government-subsidized resources, or being subsidized via the tax code.

(2) If you're on food stamps, tear them up, throw them away, and don't get any more. Just starve. Food banks are a no-no, just like shelters. All non-profits are government subsidized through the tax code.

(3) If you're on Medicaid, or your children are on SCHIP, just say no! Pay out of pocket or get sick and die. Like the man said, "Give me liberty AND give me death!"

(4) If you are on Medicare, drop out. Refuse to use your Medicare card, and pay for all your medical expenses yourself. You can try to get medical insurance, of course. Good luck with that. Aside from supplemental Medicare coverage, you'll probably have to go to Switzerland, or something.

(5) Pull your kids out of school. Obviously, public schools are socialist. But so are charter schools that receive public money. And even purely private schools employ teachers who went to public school. Yes, I know it's shocking, but it's true! So, no school! It's socialist, through and through.

(6) Stay off the streets. Almost all streets, roads and highways in America are socialist. Private roads are incredibly rare, so unless you live on one, stay off the streets entirely. Besides, you can't buy gas without paying state and federal taxes.

(7) Stay off the sidewalks. They're just as socialist as the streets, if not moreso.

(8) Stop using municipal water. Municipal water is socialist. Use only commercial bottled water for cooking, bathing, clothes-washing, etc.

(9) Tell the fire department to screw off. Notify your local fire department that if your house catches on fire, you do not want them to come. They're socialists, after all. You'd rather have your children die a horrible death.

(10) Tell the police to screw off, too! Notify your local police department that you don't need their help if anyone steals your stuff, or tries to kill you or anything like that. In fact, you'll kill them if they try. You've warned them politely... this time!

So that's it, folks! Spread the message far & wide. No one can free you of socialism but you yourself!

9. Is your yard / house ok?
Our streets look like that because 4 times a year they flush the water lines, pouring thousands of gallons of water out of the street side hydrants.
I wonder how long into the future they can afford to do that?

11. Lucky me! It started 10 yards to the left of me, then
all but flooded the rest of the street. They are hard at work out there - I'll spare you the pictures, but I'm grateful for our Socialism. We would all be out of spare cash for a long time to come without it.
