52. Actually, there is a difference between comedians and clowns |
|
Many of those passed off as journalists today are CLOWNS. Comedians are generally much better informed and honest.
Comedians observe then draw logical conclusions, using humor to lessen the sting of reality.
Too many 'journalists' just disseminate talking points and press releases.

23. Let's just say that my worldview isn't shaped by a comedian. |
|
He's funny. If you don't understand that it's a way for a certain viewpoint to be expressed, that's your problem. I don't watch Faux for the same reason. Comedy used as a ruse to bring a certain part of the population to a certain way of thinking isn't any different than using a seemingly "news" format to do the same.

26. It's the reverse for me. |
|
I only recently started watching Stewart, and the reason the show appeals to me is that he adeptly nails the sentiments that I've always felt.
Anyway, it's just entertainment (and that's how I feel about FOX and MSNBC as well...they're not to be taken seriously, and those that do are not too smart).

27. OK, your post is, unintentionally on your part, hilarious in context to this thread... |
|
Goldberg slammed Jon Stewart on this VERY point, and Jon Stewart handed him an asskicking(and yourself as well) in response.
Good ole Bernie said that Stewart should stick to comedy and not make social commentary, Jon Stewart's response was that comedy has been a vehicle for social commentary for thousands of years, what he's doing now is not any different. He also said that at least he doesn't claim to be fair and balanced, unlike some "news" organizations. So there's a huge difference there, you should really watch the segment, it would illustrate how stupid your post is.
