Aren't the entire banking and insurance systems associated with capitalism nothing more than great Ponzi schemes for the money lenders and money changers?

everyone else is forced to play on their field. They are nothing more than schemes and the "people" who profit by them are nothing more than criminals stealing money from people who actually work for a living. You have to admire their efficiency, if not their morals. IMO, nothing beyond direct lending to the actual borrower would be allowed. No more of these spreadsheet manipulations that produce nothing except more middle men, taking their cut. In this issue, I am for Sharia law that defines almost all financial deals as usury (Riba) - immoral and illegal. Money should not earn money, and certainly not control the lives of all to the degree it currently does. The pursuit of money IS the root of all evil.
