GOPers are believing their own publicity, and I think they are in for a big letdown in November.

Do we really want to live in a republican controlled nation ever again?

1. there's talk of the R's taking over one or both houses of Congress
But I just can't believe that the attention span of the American people is quite that short.

3. The short attention span might help if the economy produces over one million new jobs.
Americans are ignorant and dumb a lot of the time, but they can understand what job creation means.

2. GOPers peaked too soon.. looks like we are headed for a "normal" mid-term..
with a few losses for the party in power.. but no change in majority. Here's Nate Silver's latest..

4. By November, the GOP should be used to failure
Obama seems to serve them up a big slice of "Fail Pie" on a regular basis these days.

5. Let's hope we can get enough Democratic voters to really make their failure
overwhelming.

I would love to see them try to understand where they went wrong....

Democratic Rep. Parker Griffith becomes a Republican -- and a straw in the wind?
December 22, 2009 | 2:10 pm

President Obama signed a disaster declaration for the state of Alabama this afternoon. But that involved damage from last month's Tropical Storm Ida and had nothing to do with today's defection of a representative from his Democratic Party over to the Republicans.

Parker Griffith, a radiation oncologist in real life, was just elected to the House last year from northern Alabama's Fifth District after the retirement of another Democrat, nine-term incumbent Bud Cramer. Griffith won by only some 9,000 votes.

In one sense Griffith's immediate defection is no big deal. It's one seat less for the overwhelming Democratic majority (now 257-178) headed by Capt. Nancy Pelosi and only one seat more for the distinct minority headed by Ohio's John Boehner....

...Griffith said he had become increasingly uncomfortable with the liberal policies of his party and president, especially the overwhelming spending.

Another thing that we need to do is get rid of the Bluebogs!!!!!

7. I like reminding them how Pres Obama saved US manufacturing jobs
Edited on Sun Apr-25-10 08:16 AM by B Calm
with the loan to Detroit and combined with the wildly successful Cash for Guzzlers program. Then I tell them how GM paid back their loan this week. It don't hurt to remind people that the DOW first time in years is above 11,000 again and consumer confidence is on the rise!

I think the cons are in for a disappointing election. . .

Will the results of the next election bring about more violence from the right?

8. Careful with the hyperbole. DOW was at 13,000 less than 2 years ago
and 14,000 the year before.

Just sayin. "first time in years" doesn't help ANYONE, since it's easily shot down and makes you look like a partisan who doesn't have his facts straight. ;)

11. That's not the point.
The fact is, to say "it hasn't seen 11,000 in years!" is factually wrong. Better to get your facts straight, and THEN make your point.

Don't you think?

It's fine to say "it crashed bigtime under the Bush administration and is now making a quick comeback" or whatever, but again, don't engage in hyperbole to try and "make your point".

That's all I'm saying. ;)
