reverse the damage that the bush*/cheney/rumsfeld/ pub congress and the rw supreme court did in the previous last two admins.

I like and respect Obama, but he is not my dream president, but I do think he was the right dem choice, and the right fit at this time in our history.

The rw crazies are not gonna go down without a fight, and we are going to have to stand our ground and really get the vote out for the next two election cycles.

Our work is really cut out for us since so many brain dead people with voter reg cards depend on FUX News to shape their political points of view.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I can never go back to living thru another eight years of insanity disguised as folksy, fascism again.

If we even come close to handing over this country to an old senile, ptsd coot and some bat shit crazy woman from Alaska, I'm done.

Get involved in the process. Make a difference. VOTE and get other people to vote.

1. "old senile, ptsd coot "
This seems unnecessarily disparaging and insulting to several groups. Do you really mean to say this? At least "bat shit crazy" is accurate, if insulting to bat shit. . .

2. I agree as a vet who was diagnosed with PTSD it is neither a joke nor a barring disability.
Would the OP campaign against me regardless of my political positions because of a prior PTSD diagnosis?
Does some Article of the Constitution bar combat veterans from holding political office for life?

I am going to give benefit of the doubt that the OP is simply upset and was reaching for words and grabbed the wrong one.

3. I agree, and that's why my post was made as a gentle suggestion
I hope that someone would do the same for me when I get a little too carried away . . .

6. These discussions usually lead to the perils of the two party system
If you don't have a job or a home, the fact that the White House and congress are Democratic is no comfort. The differences between the parties can be hard to see, especially given the need for Democrats to get as much corporate funding to achieve power as the gop.

The Democrats can be frustrating. They seem to need 60 Senate votes for everything when republicans can rubber stamp legislation with 51, thanks to cooperating Dems. Laws that mean well get bogged down by compromise, and some issues get put on the back burner. With all these faults, I'll still take them over republicans in a second.

The republicans are easy to figure out, and to oppose. They want to enrich the rich at all costs, the enviroment, middle class and poor be damned. They align themselves with the socially regressive to get votes since they can't run on helping the rich.

We're currently stuck between these two choices. The two party system is self reinforcing. If one party blinks, the other wins. It's like two guys holding a huge stone over their heads, the first one to put his arms down gets bonked on the head, so they just stand there.

To improve things, we need to make the Democratic party better, not just bigger. This will take a long time, much like fixing Bush's mess.
