Hawaii Legislature OKs measure to ignore requests for disclosure of Barack Obama's birth certificate
April 28, 2010 | 2:28 am
A brand-new chapter dawns in the birther controversy over President Obama's hidden birth certificate.

The Hawaii legislature has now officially passed a measure that would allow state officials to legally ignore each month's dozens of repeated requests by persons or organizations seeking to see the infant Obama's actual birth certificate.

For personal privacy reasons the certificate resides under government lock and key in Hawaii and, as is his right, Obama has never authorized its release.

That's a refusal that has only inflamed conspiracy theorists who theorize that if it's really legit, what's Obama's problem with disclosing it? The repeated non-response of spokesmen has been that's a silly issue.

Nearly three years ago at The Ticket's request, the presidential campaign of Barack Hussein Obama released a copy of his Certificate of Live Birth, which we promptly published right here.

In the ensuing months, however, that proved insufficient evidence for those who believe the twice-sworn 44th president might possibly maybe could have been born in Kenya, which could mean that he wasn't born an American even though his Kansas-born mother was American, which then still conceivably might possibly mean that Obama is an illegitimate president, as is, then, everything he's done since Jan. 20, 2009, they hope.

1. Andrew Malcolm wrote an article with the line "what's she got to loose"?
And their copy desk let it get by?

Quality control is not what it used to be at the major newspapers.

3. This all reminds me of something...
Oh yeah...

That other pResident, George W. Bush, who was appointed to the pResidency by the Supreme Court. He lost the popular vote, and there were documented voting fraud issues, by the SCOTUS just planted his unqualified, corrupt, sorry ass in The White House.

I don't remember too many on the right complaining about that.

That would mean everything GWB did while in office was illegitimate as well, right?

Where were all of them during the Bush years? When he was starting wars based on lies, spying on us, outing covert CIA agents, appointing cronies to important jobs they weren't qualified for, corrupting the Justice Department, running up the deficit so our children and grandchildren will have to pay for it, etc.?

Hypocrites. Racists. If Obama's skin was white, we'd not be hearing any of this nonsense.

5. Where Was Their 10th Ammendment???
The userption of the 2000 election was a clear violation of states rights as its the states who conduct the election while the federal can only certify it...not determine how those votes are counted. Scalia's overbroad interpretation of the 14th ammendment completely trampled the 10th. And yep, you sure didn't see any teabaggers in poutrage about that.

9. If Obama was white, we'd be hearing some other sort of nonsense
Remember how they tried to delegitimize Bill Clinton's presidency every chance they could? He won the first term with less than half the popular vote. They used that as an excuse to claim his presidency was not legitimate, among other things. I don't disagree that they are hypocrites and racists. But, they would pull this shit with any Democrat who wins the White House. It's part of their MO.

13. Where were they? Why on their knees praying for George W. Bush
of course.

They are hypocrites of the highest order.

If McLame had been elected there would be no Teabagger movement. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Even though many of the same things would still be going on.

And they didn't seem to care a whit about that AZ Big Brother immigration law. Why might that be?

Oh yeah, because it only REALLY affects people with brown skin. :puke:

4. Still Doesn't Matter...
The birfers will always move the goal posts to keep their dream that this President is "illegitimate" (translation: he's BLACK!!!!).

Even if they got the "live birth" or whatever crap they're crying for now, be assured the questions of its legitimacy will begin. Their little conspiracies have hatched conspiracies that always means there will never be a satisfactory answer to these losers.

Unfortunately, a bill like this just adds more foil to their hats...as there surely has to be some subterfuge at play here... :tinfoilhat:

6. I'm betting Axelrod told Obama to never authorize the release of the original
No president in history has ever had to do so and Obama has a right to refuse to allow anybody other than family to see it.

I think the Birther shit started taking off and Axelrod decided it would be good to have a bunch of brain dead morons as part of every anti-Obama movement going. This provides a level of nuttery to anything anti-Obama and serves to de-legitimze it all politically.

You cannot go to a Teabagger rally without seeing a bunch of Birther shit.

Orly Taitz was a political godsend. Nutballs ranting about widespread conspiracies serve to turn off the moderates.

8. I suspect you're right
Besides the fact that nothing they release will satisfy these freaks. Having freaks be your most vocal, visible, and persistent critics tends to paint ALL your critics as such.

10. They should have allowed the requests to keep on coming and sending out the copies.
Edited on Wed Apr-28-10 07:51 AM by LiberalFighter
Charge everyone that wants an authentic legal copy $30 to $50 in addition to the regular fee. They could raise a bundle of revenue to help their state budget.

They could put it on a special paper with holograms and everything.

12. Will the Governor sign the bill? She is a Republican.
If she was smart she would sign it. The controversy would still go on. Possibly more.
