Books About the Reagan Administration |
|
Does anyone know about any good book about the Ronald Reagan Administration? I am interested in learning how Reagan increased the size of government. I know that the size of government increased during the Reagan Administration, but I do not know what was done to cause the increase. I want to know what, if any, agencies were created during the Reagan Administration.

the book is "The Triumph of Politics: Why the Reagan Revolution Failed". i did a book report on it for history class. he actually says that in the role of OMB, they used the budget from the carter administration as a baseline to determine how much they wanted to spend. something like an error in assuming inflation-adjusted dollars is what allowed so much to be allocated to the pentagon, but once they had their projected budget, they wouldn't let go.

I read that book. I was a very good book. I was surprised at how critical of he was of the Reagan Administration. I did not expect a Republican let alone one that had been a part of the Administration to be that critical of Reagan. I am not a fan of Reagan, but that was just about the first time I had read any Republican be critical of the Reagan Administration.
However, although I care about budgetary politics and policy, I was looking for something that discussed more whether or not he created any new agencies. If he did create any new agenices how many he created.
