I wish the prez would take on corporate personhood

It's amazing that we even need this, but we need a constitutional amendment that says corporations are not people.

If he could manage to get a Constitutional amendment like that, it would save America! Prizes surely in store! :)

BUt it is not a battle that President Obama can win. For a Constitutional amendment to be successful there must be a giant ground swell of support from the people. Just getting a 2/3 joint Congressional apporval is a huge hurdle and then there is the need for ratification by by 3/4 of the states

This process at the federal level is in the hands of the legislative branch-it begins with them and ends with them- the president does not sign the amendment, it just goes to the states.
