Obama Pokes Fun at McCain's Maverick Claim
McCain was always a fake Maverick.

A closer look at the life and career of John McCain reveals a disturbing record of recklessness and dishonesty

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama is poking fun at Sen. John McCain's claim he was not identified as a maverick.

Obama quipped Saturday night at the White House correspondent's dinner that ''we know what happens in Arizona when you don't have an ID. ... Adios amigos.''

McCain faces a tough re-election fight against a conservative opponent and has distanced himself from the maverick label he once embraced as a presidential candidate.

The president's reference to McCain's home state of Arizona referred to the new immigration law that local and state law enforcement to question people about their immigration status if there's reason to suspect they're in the country illegally. It also makes it a state crime to be in the United States illegally.

with personality problems because he was not as high ranking a sailor as dad and grandpa. He routinely used his father's admiral's rank to threaten and intimidate other naval officers into covering for his idiotic behavior, and many of his peers in the service dislike him for his lack of personal integrity.

4. Most people in the room did not get that
brilliant joke. The hacks never made the connection between branding as an ID and that Maverick(y) thing.

By the way on the dinner thread I noted that Obama left the room and wondered if he went to the little boy's room. I now suspect that he was updated by Bloomberg about the Times Square near incident.

6. I remember during the campaign...

...when Sarah the Silly chirped happily about John, herself, and sundry others becoming "...a TEAM of Mavericks in Washington D.C.!"

:wtf:

MASSIVE and repeated headdesk, because facepalm just wouldn't cover it. :banghead:

A 'maverick' is a critter that takes off on its own trajectory, away from the herd.
It is NOT a group effort. Sure, you may get a bunch of 'mavericks'...but they'll all be going off on their OWN tangents.
This is NOT 'teamwork'; it is 'scattering' sorta like what apparently passes for thought-processing in Sarah's brain.

Think Rolling Stone or somebody had an article about McCain the Maverick (when he WAS one) and running for President.
What I got from that was that John "5-Crash" McMaverick has an entitlement mindset and does not play well with others.

Edit to add: Whoops...just looked at the date on the Rolling Stone article. That WAS the article I read...thought there was a new one.
