3. It's heartbreaking
It's maddening and heartbreaking. I can't even imagine the impact it will have in the 90 days they claim it will take to stop the leak. And there are no guarantees that they can actually stop it.

4. Very nice. Helpful.
Notice the way the blob moves around is due to the winds.
Which are now out of the South, blowing it all to Mobile Bay, Pensacola and W. Fla.

Tornado warnings up in Miss, btw.

7. Tragic
For years, they tried to get offshore oil drilling in California. I was always grateful they failed. Today, I'm ETERNALLY grateful they failed. My heart goes out to everybody on the coast there that will be affected by this tragedy.

9. I live in the Florida panhandle
This is making me ill. My husband is a Santa Barbara native, and remembers a similar large spill in 1969 (from an offshore rig). It trashed the coastline for years to come, and he said he has vivid, and horrifying memories of dead wildlife littering the beach.

13. I am so sad for all of us. The Panhandle is a paradise
as is the entire gulf coast.

I too am ill?

Will humanity ever learn how not to destroy itself from greed and avarice?

Prosecutions are in order. I oppose the death penalty but hanging, frankly, is too good for these monsters due to what they have wrought. T^hey will blame some poor schmuck probably, but heads at the top of the industry should roll (figuratively of course) - same with the politicians who promoted this insanity.

I worry for the Florida Keys and the Everglades.

It is all so sad.

My thoughts and prayers (or whatever meditations for some divine help/energy can be called) are with all of you and all of us and all of nature.

14. I am living in dread
I just recently moved here and have been amazed by the beauty and desolation of some of the beaches. And the white, white sand, and the wildlife. What a desecration.

My little dog at Alligator Point, Florida.

Chernobyl and regular releases of nuclear radiation from nuclear power plants in the US and other nuclear "incidents".

The horror and dangers of nuclear "energy" would be just as clear as this example of the horror and danger of offshore drilling and oil shipping.

Such a graphic would demonstrate that nuclear radiation reaches the jet stream and spreads with the winds globally wherever nuke plants are operating.

Renewables are the ONLY solution.

No Nukes

No coal

No offshore drilling

no fossil fuels for long term energy and transportation

ONLY renewables are safe and efficient.

Efficiency is the key

and none of the above (nukes, coal, oil) are efficient given the grave risks involved and the clear and present dangers and harm these industries promote for profit, greed and avarice.
