Why is there another corporate merger. |
|
When the corporations need to get smaller?
Seriously, the lack of competition and race to the bottom of corporate monopolies is already a big problem.
And on the news they talk about an airline merger?
Regulate profit motive systems, and make them more independent and smaller, not one system of monopoly.
Then as the world corporations get smaller, government could get smaller.
Another merger? LOL
Who will that merger advantage? What is its purpose? And why is that important?

1. "Then as the world corporations get smaller, government could get smaller." |

No it couldn't. It takes the monopolistic power of government to break up corporations.
That's one reason why corporations have such power around the world. We have a few hundred regional governments all acting in their own interests, and multi-national corporations can play them off against the other.
When it comes to the global economy, corporations are working in a different world than governments. Governments still exist in a 20th century reality with lines drawn on maps, corporations do not.
Government must get bigger. It must be continental. It must be hemispheric. It must be global. In that way, corporations are far more united than governments are.

2. The point I have mentioned is Government has to be big enough |
|

to maintain influence of societies issues. So the profit motive does not trash society just for profit of a small group.
So I agree government has to be big enough to regulate, and break up monopoly systems.
But as those systems do get smaller, then government could get smaller, since it is a counter balance to that force.
I agree Government must get bigger, to fix issues in the corporate system. But once they do that, then they could get smaller, but they can not be smaller then the other systems that harm society without regulation.
And yes it must be international.
And if government sides with the Corporate profit motive, then they tie themselves to that sinking ship, and both end up going down, so government must not be captured by Corporations either.
The corporate system was willing to trash the economy to make money for a few, it is not that smart to allow that thought process to run parts of society.

3. But once it goes international, it won't shrink voluntarily |
|
Same with corporations.
Neither form of organization(government and corporation) likes competition. I don't think either side enjoys the endless effort it takes to outdo the other. Talk about waste and inefficiency. That's why they both continuously grow in size. They both try to balance out the power of the other. We've seen corporations broken up before. Yet here we are.
I imagine at some point, if the energy is cheap enough, that we'll end up with a global government, and a global corporation, and then have those two ultimately merging somehow. Diversity is inefficient. Having a bunch of little corporations, a bunch of regional governments, it's no wonder we're such a wasteful civilization. Just think of all the time, effort, and money it takes to regulate such a mess, and it's not even being done anyway.

5. Why is inefficiency bad? |
|
With production above demand, then it is actually good.
With unemployment problems it is actually good.
Oh yea, I remember, it is bad in race to the bottom world were making extra profit and cheapest cost is the motivator.
