George "Rentboy" Rekers explains ... sorta...
Rekers also addresses the Rentboys.com scandal, claiming:

A recent article in an alternative newspaper cleverly gave false impressions of inappropriate behavior because of its misleading innuendo, incorrectly implying that Professor George Rekers used the Rentboy website to hire a prostitute to accompany him on a recent trip. Contrary to Internet stories based on this slanderous article, following medical advice Professor George Rekers requires an assistant to lift his luggage in his travels because of an ongoing condition following surgery. His family, local friends, and even another university professor colleague have offered to accompany him on trips to assist him in his travel. Dr. Rekers found his recent travel assistant by interviewing different people who might be able to help, and did not even find out about his travel assistant’s Internet advertisements offering prostitution activity until after the trip was in progress. There was nothing inappropriate with this relationship. Professor Rekers was not involved in any illegal or sexual behavior with his travel assistant.

So if friends and family members offered to accompnay him, why did Rekers hire this travel assistant, who confirmed to New Times Miami that they met via Rentboys.com?

Oh, when first we practice to deceive...:eyes:

Like I posted yesterday...in order to get on the site to contact the Rentboy, Rekers had to go through some disclosures which clearly pointed out what kind of site he was entering.

I could not care less if Rekers is gay ~~ it is the hypocrisy and the intent to hurt others who are like him which are totally disgusting.

2. You know...if he admitted his orientation and then allowed...
...some hick preacher to pray him straight...they would love him. That is the really sad part!

9. Yup. And if he just admitted the truth and accepted himself
He'd find that he would have integrity and peace of mind. He'd not have to pretend to be someone he is not, nor would he have a compulsion to express hate. He would be free of the Notorious & Pestilent "Republicon Wide-Stance, Diaper-Clad Family Values Curse."

3. And Mark Foley did similar, against gays. It's always the same pattern, but for
some reason the human psyche generally does not get it. I wish people would think rather than blindly follow...

7. Guess the ones who hate gays the most often turn out to be the most gay?
What a lot of self hatred to have to go that far. But...from what I have seen with my gay friends, it takes a hell of a lot of courage and strength to come out.

Too bad society is soooooooo hung up on sexual role models ~~ what is "bad" and what is "good". IMO, being comfortable in one's skin is what it is all about. One can be gay, straight, somewhere in between, trans, bi...whatever. Too bad society pushes sexual stereotypes.

4. I went to Rentboy.com-there is NO DOUBT what it is about.
I also could care less if he's gay-but the damage he's done to parents of gay children, and gay children themselves sickens me.I hope there's pictures of him wearing a maid outfit with a ball gag.

6. It was a misquote. The article said he was to "assist with his luggage"...
he actually said "I needed him to handle my junk"....
