Campaign Finance Reform - A Different Solution
With the invention of the internet, this opens up new opportunities for solving a great many of our issues. One of them is campaign finance reform.

Does anyone still think money should be allowed or be a factor in determining who become our elected officials?

What if all presidential campaign advertising were banned and all presidential candidates, no matter what their monetary resources, were relegated to presenting themselves, their positions on the issues and their candidacy on a single website?

Each candidate would have so much space to present their stance on issues and their solutions and no one candidate would have anymore advertising advantage than the rest. No one would need or be allowed to contribute to political candidates anymore since each candidate and their positions would be fairly and evenly represented. Like a myspace or facebook for political candidates where candidates could upload their profiles with no outside links allowed.

And there would be a limited amount of what a candidate could do on the internet.

Voters could visit that website to get to know each candidate and determine who they believe would be deserving of their vote.

This would remove money as a factor in electing our public officials.

How do you feel about this? I know some would have free speech issues with this but in any televised debate we limit how much time a candidate has to say in an effort to keep things fair. My idea would work on the same principle.

1. My solution would be that
No candidate can spend more than what the job pays. And that includes outside spending.
