5. Or, just for contrast ...
we are merely like ants or microbes performing actions, (like creating a nervous system via our electronic web across the Planet) that we are unable to be fully cognizant of in regards to the final outcome. We see things from a personal or organizational, self-interested point-of-view, mostly.

So, we may be destroying our biosphere and only home, or we turn out to be like a social insect in our totality, performing what seem to be horrific and destructive actions for profit when in truth, we are not at all separate, (except in our own divisive conceptualizations) or acting on our own behalf at all.

It is remotely possible that we, as a species, are merely acting out some sort of complex and enormous birthing event for a planetary consciousness. In that case, what we thing, prognosticate, or experience is trivial by comparison, and we really don't need to know the larger picture and the outcome of that process at all.

Boo-hoo for us!
