Is DU slow for anyone else this morning? |
|
This past week its been an on and off sorta deal here, sometimes it seems to be ok then other times, like now, it seems as if it takes forever to load a page, especially a post or a reply. OOPS, maybe someone is trying to tell me something, huh

For some reason my internet service provider bumped my speed up about a month ago to where I'm clocking in around 366 kB/s where it was around 60 kB/s prior.
Seems like this started happening when the tornado's came through our state last week so that may have something to do with it. If thats possible that is.

sometimes clicking on a thread or a forum, it would just sit for a few seconds before doing anything and other times it was click-bang you're there.

17. Do you have a wireless router? If so, is it secure? We |
|
were having trouble with ours getting real slow. Charter came in and secured our wireless and not a problem since.

21. Try disconnecting from your wireless connection |

and getting a new one from your IP server.

I'll try the ole turn it off and back on trick though just to be sure. This seems to be sporadic but it may just be that I need to do this. so off she goes to see if thats it. I'm usually pretty fast in trying that trick but for some reason I didn't this time. Thanks for reminder.

But you understood what I meant, a new connection by disconnecting and reconnecting.

24. If every other website is OK and DU isn't, it's not the connection. |
|
If everything on the internet is slow, you may have a connection problem, but if just one website is slow or stuck, it's most likely a problem at their end. Which is why whenever a website freezes, I check other websites to see if they freeze too.. 99% of the time it's not my end.
