Red state DU'ers who had themselves counted in a blue state for the census, remember
you'll need a copy of the form sent in to show the census workers that go door to door. If you don't show them the form they are going to count you in the red state you live in anyway. You'll still get counted in the blue state you chose but it will be a wash for reapportionment.

1. That is not correct
You do not need to show us anything. If you tell us you lived in another place on census day (april 1st) and did not send in a form, we will interview you with and put it in with whatever address you give us. If you tell us you lived in another place and did send in the form, we will ask you what you know about the address you are at on census day. We do not ask for proof about anything.

3. All census workers carry id and phone numbers for the local census office
As well as their supervisor. If anyone is unsure if they are being counted correctly and the enumerator cannot explain to your satisfaction, just ask for the number and call for clarification. If you suspect they are not a real census worker, call the police, they are notified when we come into an area and are aware of our presence.

4. They have to, or they will be fired.
Census workers are all trained to do the exact same thing. No census worker should ask you to "prove" anything, but should go strictly on your word.

5. No. They count people as of their April 1 address.
