Turnout light in my district.... not good for Sestak and Critz |
|
Hopefully it picks up later in the day.
But I have to believe that a light turnout helps Specter and Burns.
Specter will get the "machine" vote (unions, seniors) that turns out every election. Sestak needs the casual voter to turn out.
As for Critz-Burns in the battle for Murtha's seat.... the light turnout probably favors the Republican since there is more passion there, with the likes of Jim Quinn beating the drum on right-wing radio for weeks.
I did my part... but the weather is not helping either. Raining and windy.

1. We will be voting in about 2 hours - raining and pretty nasty all day, |

wind and around 48 degrees...this will help the incumbents unless we have a lot of rabid leftists turning out to vote...today, even a few votes might make a difference one way or the other....

These elections can be decided by very slim margins. The weather favors Specter for sure, unless the union folks turn out the "wrong" union members. (Sestak has some quiet union support at the local level). We'll see. It is notable that BOTH Obama and Biden skipped the last week here, although Biden has a pretty good reason for skipping it all.
