Glenn Beck Hits 2010 Ratings LOW
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/18/glenn-beck-hits-2010-rati_n_580440.html

Glenn Beck has hit a new low for the year -- literally.

Beck's Fox News program saw its worst ratings of 2010 Friday, averaging just 1.776 million total viewers. Of course, that's more than his competitors -- MSNBC's "Hardball" (528,000), CNN's "Situation Room" (481,000) and HLN's "Showbiz Tonight" (197,000) -- combined, but it represents a continuation of a trend that began last month.

For the month of April, Glenn Beck suffered his first year-over-year decline since joining Fox News in January 2009, declining 7% in total viewers and 6% in the demo compared to April 2009. Moreover, Beck shed 28% of his audience between January and April in both total viewers and the demo.

1. Considering that Beck's advertisers are down to survival seed vendors...
Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes are having to sacrifice a looooot of money to keep Beck on the air...

5. Their sole reason for living seems to be to get Republicans elected, so
I guess it's OK with them.

I can't believe that many people still watch Beck, though. The man is seriously crazy. But, I guess it's like looking at a bad car wreck, you just can't not look.

I wonder how many watch just for the laughs?

3. Considering that he has hucksters for his advertisers
I'm sure it'll drain down to nothing, and Glen Beck will be soon drinking ripple and yelling at clouds.

13. The same thing happened to him on CNN.
I remember how arrogant CNN was when asked why they were hiring someone who was an anathema to their audience. They claimed that 'liberals don't yell loud enough' or something like that. Anyhow, people tuned out as it was clear, even on his best behavior, this was someone with some serious issues. They held on until hardly anyone was watching before they finally let him go.

He is a clown. That there are one million Americans who still tune is sad, although some of them are probably watching the way people watch train-wrecks against their better judgement.

22. But how many in that 1.776 million total viewers are HUMAN?
Hannity, Beck & OReilly all skew the ratings by telling their radio listeners to DVR their shows, thus skewing the numbers. No one is supposed to tell viewers to watch their show. And I wonder how many right wingers record those shows and never watch, giving them artificial ratings? They aren't supposed to pump shows like that, but they do it anyway. They are so dishonest...

23. What about "Free Market Magic"? Is Beck "too big to fail"? Is Murdoch practicing SOCIALISM?
Whatever happened to "Free Market Magic"?

Let Beck fail. Why isn't he cancelled?

Is Murdoch practicing SOCIALISM by not letting the Free Market decide?

Why does Murdoch hate Jesus and America?

24. The Teabag is Getting Drained...
No, it's not the advertising boycott...Faux still takes those large ratings and makes money with them...raising their ad rates across all day parts. He's become a "loss leader" as he drew a lot of publicity and attention to the network, but his shitck has started to run dry.

I think we're starting to see wingnut and teabagger fatigue starting to set in. Ever since President Obama won the fear mongers and hate spewers have amped up the rhetoric...all sorts of claims of doom and gloom and so far it hasn't happened. Grandma hasn't been dragged off to death panels, guns haven't been confisacated, fundies haven't been forced to have gay sex with hispanic black lesbians and the economy hasn't evaporated. There's only so much cry wolf that can be done before it all gets muddled.

Dreck's shtick is getting tedious and the audience is starting to get wise...even the many usual unhinged Faux viewers.

We could all send soft, soggy tea bags. Or at least heavily used ones. I wonder what the news would say about if Fox News started getting millions of used tea bags?
