One of Tim Geithner's Finest Hours--testifying before a relatively intelligent committee
Edited on Tue May-18-10 07:30 PM by Mike 03
I respect those here who distrust Timothy Geithner, but I am unabashed fan and I believe in him 100% after having watched basically every one of his public appearances and testimonies multiple times.

In this last hearing I really think he was able to be completely honest with the committee because he was not asked as many stupid questions as usual. To the credit of this committee, they actually know something about finance, investment, and the abuse therof.

If you are interested, please check this hearing out.

Hopefully you will not be disappointed. Let me know what you think.

Geithner is about "confidence", so naturally when he is repeatedly asked questions about how bad our economy is by republicans, he is going to attempt--just like Bernanke or anybody else in control of our economy with half a brain--to deflect the question. The Repukes are trying to sabotage our economy by baiting those in charge of it to admit they have no confidence in it.

I know the people here think for themselves. You know what the truth is, and what is going on.

Tim Geithner has been telling those of us willing to listen what the truth is for a year now, and I think there is some famous quote about "those who have ears" can hear, or "let those who have ears hear" what is obvious.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post, and be well.

1. Another unabashed fan here (and cspan junkie). There are many others. I always check cspan's
schedule for Geithner hearings and try to watch as many as possible because he amazes me. I enjoy listening to him answer even the toughest questions. His answers are well-thought-out, tend to be upbeat and are usually satisfactory to the questioner... either that or his answers are so detailed and "dazzling" that the questioner often takes a pass on asking follow-up questions for fear of looking stupid. He takes no bait. His republican questioners often misquote him and I love it when he says "If you check, senator, you'll find that that's not what I said. What I said was....". He was a good choice and I credit him with having a MAJOR role in helping to get us out of this mess.
