Lincoln Calling Herself a Comeback Kid
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2010/05/lincoln_speaking.php?ref=fpblg

It's looking like Bill Halter might actually end up ahead of Blanche Lincoln tonight, though it's of course a run-off either way. But Lincoln is speaking right now. And I must say, she's got the sound of a loser in this speech. She seems kind of shell-shocked. She started off saying that she'd been written off and now is back. But I mean, that's not true. The consensus was that she'd win tonight with a good margin and quite possibly win outright and avoid a run-off. Now she's got a real fight on her hands.

1. Keep telling yourself stuff like that, Blanche.
Everything that comes out of her mouth sounds disingenuous. I really, really hope she's out of the picture soon.

2. How does the run-off work in Arkansas?
Will Morrison be eliminated? Lincoln and Halter head-to-head?

6. Any idea which way Morrison supporters are likely to swing?
Looks like he's got ~14%. Will he throw his support to either Lincoln or Halter?

10. That's a good question
One would think that any non-incumbent vote would go to Halter, but Morrison was a conservadem candidate.

13. Blanche is so very disliked here in Arkansas
by both D and R. I hope that Morrison's voters will swing to Halter..at least most of them.

14. Judging by Morrison's platform, he's a republican, not a democrat!

12. Does this mean I will go back to polling booth to vote again?
I voted for Halter today and will do again!

Go, Halter, Go

4. Blanche is in sore need of a little GONE WITH THE WIND pathos.
Meanwhile, this is a bleak evening for Blanche. Well under 50% needed to avoid a runoff and very close to finishing second against the Lt. Gov.

5. Looks like Morrison was Halter's Nader
Morrison's 13% would have put it over the top for Bill Halter.

I think all of Blanche Lincoln ads looked like they were right out of the republicans play books.

11. I know, right?
Ran ads bragging about opposing the Democratic agenda because it wasn't 'right for Arkansas. Yeah, cause people in Arkansas don't need good paying jobs, a public option to beat back their premium costs and protection from the banksters who are stealing our future. Good job, Blanche!

7. I foresee Blanche Lincoln kneeling before the President begging for help.
I wish I could foresee the President laughing at her.
