Victory Against the "DLC."
Sure, Halter forcing a run off in Arkansas would qualify as a victory against the "DLC" or Conservadems to many here. But lets not fool ourselves into thinking the same thing about the PA race. I was rooting strongly for Sestak last night because he was the only Real Democrat in the race. However, according to the definition of "DLC," consistently thrown around here, he most certainly is part of it. So no, the PA race was not in any way a victory over the "DLC."

And i put quotes around the DLC because I dont really buy the term and its usefulness anymore, but a lot of other people do.

1. "DLC" is a catch-all term here that obscures more than it explains. And it's dodgy
to use terms across decades like that.

6. Yes, it is. It's become the lazy explanation for voters
who don't agree with me.

2. He is for the Afghanistan War. He is not a major bigtime progressive.
But he was the actual Dem and I would have voted for him too.

7. Bottom line, Halter will be a bit to the right of Lincoln
but the Democrats will have a chance to hold onto the seat if he's nominated. Not so much if it's Lincoln.

9. there had to be better reasons for voting Sestak, i would vote Arlen Specter over Lieberman
even though Lieberman can say he had been a democrat for more years.
