Millions of Dead Bait Fish Wash Ashore in Louisiana
The Mistress of the Misunderstood and the Sea Captain: Day Nine
By: dottyoliver Wednesday May 19, 2010 7:20 am

Day 9: Another scary call in the wee hours of the morning from the fishermen in Yscloskey. It seems that millions of small food fish, bait to us laymen, have been washing ashore in this small fishing village that was totally wiped out by Katrina. This shows that the damage is coming further into the marshlands than had been anticipated. These are the bottom of the food chain fish that the larger fish depend on for survival. A picture here is worth a thousand words. More later today. I’m skipping over one post I had written because this one is so important.

Thanks to Public Eyes media and the Captain for this morning’s photos.

14. The Jackass Brigade.
A bunch of them got tombstoned, but more remain. Anything that challenges or exposes the venality and utter evil of Corporatism gets their immediate unrecs. They oppose everything from Sea Shepherd to peace and justice actions that disrupt business as usual and informational campaigns about toxins in food and air and water.

In most conflicts, even on issues discussed on forums, there are two sides, and they are on the other one.

"Which side are you on..."

5. i'm sure we'll find out that the oil disaster had nothing to do with it....
BP chief says oil leak impact 'very modest'

LONDON (AFP) – British energy group BP said Tuesday the Gulf of Mexico leak will have only a "very modest" environmental impact, adding that its engineers are siphoning up twice as much oil as previously thought.

A tube inserted into the gushing leak "is estimated to be collecting and carrying about 2,000 barrels a day," said a BP statement. On Monday it had said 1,000 barrels a day, or 20 percent of the flow, was being retrieved.

BP chief executive Tony Hayward told Sky News television: "I think the environmental impact of this disaster is likely to have been very, very modest.

"It is impossible to say and we will mount, as part of the aftermath, a very detailed environmental assessment. But everything we can see at the moment suggests that the overall environmental impact will be very, very modest."

An estimated 5,000 barrels, or 210,000 gallons, of oil have spewed into the Gulf every day over nearly a month since BP's Deepwater Horizon drilling rig exploded and sank, dragging the oil group into an environmental nightmare.

Americans put up with any old shit.

For example, former EPA investigator:

"One month after the BP oil spill, we speak to Scott West, a former top investigator at the Environmental Protection Agency who led an investigation of BP following a major oil pipeline leak in Alaska’s North Slope that spilled 250,000 gallons of oil on the Alaskan tundra. Before West finished his investigation, the Bush Justice Department reached a settlement with BP, and the oil company agreed to pay $20 million. At the same time, BP managed to avoid prosecution for the Texas City refinery explosion that killed fifteen workers by paying a $50 million settlement."

17. We all know that
this is and will be for years to come a hot shitty mess. Okay entrepreneurs time to start some fish farms and farm raise shellfish for human consumption. Feel sorry for the people in the gulf and other effected areas. But the spill has happened and we need to rescue varieties of fish to have to eat and replenish the ocean. And may as well get lemonade.

26. BP press release 05/20/2010:
Today it was reported that millions of bait fish along the LA/MS/AL/TX and FL gulf committed mass suicide. Investigation may reveal these young fish were part of a religious cult headquartered in North Korea. The Obama administration has asked congress for an independent investigation and Sec of State Clinton has filed a protest with NK.

:sarcasm:

I guess as this gets worse and worse a lot of people will start to think it may be time to take charge of our government and forcibly remove it from the control of corporations.

33. I thought BP owned the Gulf, so why are they allowing pictures?
I don't understand. BP owns the gulf. They have been ordering our Coast Guard around so I guess they have assumed the role as our commander in chief too. The US Coast Guard has been responding to BP orders to keep people from even taking pictures. How dare us lowly citizens of the United States dare confront the corporate god 'BP'. We should all be ashamed of ourselves,

These pictures remind me of the images that came out of China during the Tiananmen Square uprising. There isn't any difference in the psychological make up of the executives at BP and the communist Chinese who used their power and control to squash the will of the people. And after listening to the BP CEO at the congressional hearing it was obvious he is a sociopath with absolutely zero concern for human beings. I firmly believe being a sociopath is a requirement to be the CEO of a lot of corporations. Look at Cheney, who was the pretend CEO at Halliburton?

We need to shake up the corrupt power system in the US. It is destroying this country, and corporations couldn't care less.
