AIG Executives Not Targeted for Criminal Charges

CBS News confirmed Friday night that federal prosecutors have informed attorneys for executives of American International Group Inc. that they are not targets of criminal charges.

The Justice Department's decision to conclude its two-year investigation into AIG executives was first reported by The Wall Street Journal ($) Friday.

The investigation focused on whether the insurer's executives deceived investors and its outside auditor about the company's risky investments in credit-default swaps partly tied to mortgages, the newspaper reports. Those investments nearly brought AIG down in 2008...

1. I am sure there are other ways justice is served, if they have done wrong.

And if they did wrong and it was not illegal, and the laws are not changed, then those that know they did wrong, and know it is still legal, and do not change laws are equally guilty for any future actions.

2. The first thing Bushco did was make crime legal.
So we can't be surprised that there is no way to put these conscienceless monsters in jail.

But someone told me tonight that the Sherman Antitrust Act has never been repealed.
