So they're planning on losing the midterms and they want to pass this now. I get that. But what's with the idea that it has to wait a year? Why wait until the study comes out if the result is a foregone conclusion? And even if you must do a study (and so the idea is that nobody knows if this should continue) why should people be punished while they wait for this stupid study (which doesn't matter anyway because the result is a foregone conclusion)

for those that are intolerant, as well implementing whatever changes they find are needed to bring a more understanding state of mind to officers/etc. The last thing I'd want ending DADT doing is bringing a new wave of assaults on openly non heterosexual service men/women, seeing as how there is already a large sexual assault problem for women as it is.
