Don't ask..
I have a simple solution to don't ask, don't tell. Just drop the don't tell.
From now on, Don't ask, and move on.
Soldiers will be rated on their performance.
Seems simple -
Don't ask.

6. I am authorized to say that the action we are now reporting
may well bring DADT within measurable distance of its end. Here is the newsflash - - -

3. There is so much more than that
Especially since they are already there. It's beyond don't ask. It is also, leave them be. No retroactive complaints or witch hunts about supposed past actions.

5. The phrase I like is: don't ask, don't care, don't make it a problem. (nt)

7. it shouldn't f'ing matter!
Ask. Tell. don't ask. don't tell.

The only one who should decide whether or not to TELL is the person themself. And that shouldn't even be an issue because if this society weren't sick puppies, then NO ONE WOULD GIVE A DAMN if a person is gay, straight, trans, or otherwise...

You are right about one thing, though. They should be evaluated on their performance. Period.

8. I'd rather be in a fox hole with a flaming "out" gay than a guy who can't stand gays.
At least I could trust the former to use good judgment.
