Poll question: who will bear the brunt of the public's political reaction to the Gulf Gusher?
Edited on Tue May-25-10 05:16 PM by branders seine
Particularly in the 2010 and 2012 election circuses.

NOTE: I
m not asking *your* opinion of who you "blame." I'm asking who you think *the voting public* will "blame."

1. Without comment as to whether it is fair, just or accurate,
I believe this baby now lives in the Obama Adminsitration.

The public will hold the administration accountable for whatever happens.

3. I hope the public blames BP and the oil industry in general.
Not sure I believe they will, but it would be a good thing.

Why haven't we seen widespread outrage and determination to move green in a big way?

6. Perception management.
Show a couple days worth of the spill when things were relatively screwed, then move on when things get worse.

I also believe the dispersants are helping mask the scope of the damage. Out of sight, out of mind.

4. Far lefts! American is a center-right country!
Edited on Tue May-25-10 06:50 PM by Dr Fate
Everyone will realize that it's the fault of far lefts for not getting behind the conservat...er, I mean centrists!

YOU FORGOT TO BLAME FAR LEFTS! YOU FORGOT TO BLAME THE FAR LEFTS!

NO FAIR- everyone who reads DU knows that the far lefts are the ones who are going to look stupid-just like they did on Iraq, WMDs, opposing Bush, etc.

The far left will PAY dearly for acting so "crazy" during all of this.

You're not asking this in good faith and I think that's fairly clear.
