Leave a leaf on Anne Frank's tree. . .

This appears to be a lovely interactive memorial site, where people from all over the world can compose a message and leave their names on a leaf of the chestnut tree mentioned in Anne Frank's diary. I really just stumbled upon this memorial web site, after refreshing my memory about the fates of the members of her friends and family during World War II - I just watched a modern BBC production of The Diary of Anne Frank.

It amazes me that her story endures and that so many continue to pass on the messages in her diary to the next generation. Had she survived the concentration camp, Anne Frank would have been 81 this year.

Anyway, I thought some of you might find the page interesting. . .and you are welcome to leave a leaf on the tree (it's free!). . .

1. I can't get the site to take 'United States' as a country.

2. Did you write "United States" out?

I had the same problem at first - I typed USA and it wouldn't take it. . .when I typed in "United States" instead, it took it fine.

They have an interesting link to a story about the tree. . .they've distributed saplings from it to Anne Frank schools...

4. Finally got it. Wasn't a problem with 'United States' although it was flagged in yellow. It was

that I hadn't included a state! When I put in a comma and my state in the 'city' box, it took.
