Could be good news for the Florida Keys, bad news for the Gulf coasts of Texas and Mexico.
Also, what sort of effect would a dramatic change in the loop current have on the ocean current that eventually makes its way out of the Gulf and past Florida to become the Gulf Stream/North Atlantic Drift?
