There were stories about a consulting company on the BOP that, when BP refused |
|
to follow their direction, had their company send in a helicopter to get them off the rig? This took place about 6 hours before the platform blew.
I haven't heard any more about that in the past few days. Was it true? What was the company? Thanks!

1. Schlumberger. The rumor was posted on the oil drum. |
|
The official Schlumberger (SLB) statement said they were not given the orders to do the tests they were there to do and they took a regularly scheduled helicopter off the rig...leaving their equipment behind.
I have real problems with the official statement. But none of the elicited testimony so far even mentions them. It focuses entirely on the fight between the Transocean guy and the BP guy, who has now taken the Fifth.

5. And a story in the LA Times about a disagreement. I wonder if this indicates |
|
two disagreements w/two different companies, or if the story just got morphed. I hope the truth comes out.
