Doctor Arrested For DUI On Way To Perform Surgery


SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― A doctor from Sacramento has been arrested for DUI while driving to a hospital in Marysville to perform surgical procedures, according to the CHP.

CHP officers arrested 48-year-old Ifeanyi Igwegbe on Tuesday morning after he broadsided a car on Highway 99 just north Riego Road.

CHP says they first had reports of the driver of a 2006 Honda Accord swerving on northbound Highway 99. A little later, that car, driven by Igwegbe, was involved in a crash with a 2005 Nissan Altima driven by Liliia Munoz. Munoz suffered some injuries.

I dated a doctor for a while. She used to drink all the time while on call. Her reasoning was, "I'll sober up as I drive in."

9. +1 Agree. Used to be married to one.

I've never known bigger drinkers than the doctors we knew--and my mom was a public high school teacher and is a recovering alcoholic. Now, I don't drink, and my ex didn't when he was married to me, but he sure does now in his marriage to the nurse he cheated with at the end of the marriage.

It's part of that whole superhuman thing--when you bring people back from the dead every day, it's easy to forget you're human.
