Only 33 people show up to see Karl Rove at book signing in Grand Rapids
My son called me today and told me he was at Meijers grocery store in Grand Rapids, and there were lots of police cars there. He asked one of the cops why, and they told him Karl Rove was coming to the store to sign his books.

I screamed, UGH. My son laughed and said, dont worry, mom, your grandson didnt get anywhere near him.

anyway, only 33 people showed up. 3 protesters.

---------------------------------------------------

The signing, tucked in the furniture section of the store, started around 4 p.m. but by 4:20 p.m. the short line was gone. Rove stepped away until more people showed up and signed six more books before ending the event at 4:45 p.m. He was scheduled to be there until 6 p.m.

During Rove's break, a trio came in with "War Criminal" signs but were escorted out.

2. I bet it goes down pretty hard with that snotty snob son-of-a-bitch to have to kiss-ass the riffraff
in order to sell books. I bet he takes major pharma just to get through a day.

5. Too bad there wasn't a crowd with torches and pitchforks.

That's the kind of reception he really deserves.

8. I'd almost be tempted to get him to sign a book "From
the PIG of the 2000 decade!" He wouldn't have done it, and I probably would have been arrested, but I would have enjoyed it! MAYBE got so press out of it too!

14. Damn! Wish I'd known that!!
I would have been the 4th protester!! As it is, I must now fumigate my house since it's in the near vicinity. And call in some witches to do the sage thing or whatever that gets rid of evil spirits.

15. A few weeks ago Rove was in Oklahoma City area for a book-signing
at the local Border's. I didn't post about it then because I was wayyy too busy to even get to a keyboard that week.

Normal business day for Border's. I stopped in with my daughter to merely browse the store, and wasn't aware of the book-signing until I was inside. The book-signing was from 3:30 to 4:30 PM, and we arrived at 4:00 sharp.

There were at most a dozen people in line. And I'm not exaggerating. And Nichols Hills, Oklahoma is about as red a community, in about as red a state, as you can find.

17. What does it say about Rove.....
that he has to have police protection to pull off a grocery store book signing?

I don't know whether to laugh or throw something.

Has ANY Democrat on a book tour had to have police protection? I remember when Bill Clinton was on tour, people treated him like a rock star.
