The Left needs a strong spokesperson. Now. |
|
Why is the right-wing so much louder, stronger, and more verbally effective than the Left? I don't get it.
Liberal politicians allow the nuances of their positions to muddy the waters, while left-wing comedians like Glenn Beck grab the headlines and use complete nonsense to capture the brain cells of otherwise intelligent Americans.
Come on, Democrats - surely there must be someone out there who can articulate the outrage over the Gulf oil gusher, put a compassionate spin on the need for health care reform, and explain why financial reform is necessary after the worst global financial crisis since the Great Depression. It just doesn't seem that difficult.
Anyone? Anyone?

I assumed the OP referred to The Left since that was how the thread was titled.

10. There's a bridge near here named after one such man |
|
I believe his name was Huey P. Long. Why was he successful? Because he appealed to common sense instead of pipe dreams.

3. The left would never agree on who that spokesperson could/would be. |

One step off the reservation and he/she is branded a heretic.

The Republican party is well disciplined in delivering their bullsh*t message. They strategize and come up with talking points and buzz phrases i.e. "tax & spend", and they all stick to it. The number one rated news channel also sticks to these points, and the rest of the media is too worried about appearing Liberal to correct GOP lies, save MSNBC.

Alan Grayson revels in his hyperpartisan reputation.
If you want someone to represent the left, he can't be a dogmatic firebrand, because he will immediately be tuned out by a good percentage of the population.

You're not allowed to speak loudly and leftly at the same time.
