I don't have a link, but I've been watching for the last couple of hours and the pincher hasn't been able to penetrate through the cluster of pipes. They have withdrawn it. At least that is for now. Who knows what they will do next.

I too have been watching it. Neither of us know if they are supposed to have cut the pipe already or are already putting some crimp pressure on it to see how the weak LMRP riser at the BOP handles the increase in pressure.

They haven't deformed the pipe nearly as much as the kink that is before the cut pressure and flow wise has, so in effect they haven't increased the pressure at all.
What I don't get is if the BOP "O" rings are damaged, capping the pipe will just force the oil around the rings. Perhaps the flow would be decreased

If Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck and their sycophants simply ignore reality and start to praise the virtues of the oil spill, or deny its existence, that would solve the problem for 1/2 the country.
They believe Saddam was involved in 9-11. They believe he had WMD and we found them. They believe Obama is not a citizen. They believe in HCR death panels. They believe Obama has raised their taxes and that the deficits started under Obama.
How big of a stretch would it be to convince them that crude oil is beneficial to the environment or that the gooey slime on the beaches is not an oil spill but a natural phenomena which results from overgrowth of algae due to a supremely pristine environment?
