Democrats in Alabama will make a huge mistake if they nominate Artur Davis for governor today |
|
Namely that he can't win. It's really that simple. Ron Sparks is the better choice. He supports real health care reform AND a public option.
Artur Davis, in a pathetic attempt to appease white conservatives who would never, ever vote for him anyway (or anyone else with his color of skin), voted against HCR twice; the Senate bill that became law in March, and the even better bill that the House passed in November 2009 (that bill contained a limited public option too). This in spite of the fact that he represents the only safe Democratic district in Alabama.
If he is nominated, the teabaggers in that state will vote Republican anyway, because they despise Davis' race, and Democratic voters will be alienated and not likely to turn out en masse for him or volunteer for him in the Fall. He will lose---BIG.
Don't do it, Alabama. Go with Ron Sparks.

1. How do they stand on the spill? |
|
Because Alabama has just been hit and I wonder if they're thinking about anything else right now?
