My name is Alan Devereoux…
These are the first words that came croaking out of my mouth when my brother came to visit me during my 36 days of hospitalization in the summer of ’04.

My sister had tried to warn him that I wasn’t really “with it” and that I might say some “crazy things”.

It still didn’t make it easier on my soon to be befuddled brother.

Trouble is, at that time, I had adopted what I referred to as “my new persona’ and I was, for all intents and purposes, Alan Devereoux. God only knows where that came from but suddenly, somehow I was a certain southern gentleman who wanted nothing more than to wander through the south as a chronicler of antebellum society.

2. You write very well Mr. Green/ Devereoux..
To have such a complete new persona is interesting.. wonder if "The Golden Girls" was on TV, was Blanche Devereoux a character on that program?

Thinking about oxygen reminds me of the time that my Dad's oxygen tube fell out of his nose when he was dozing on a couch..

As I untangled and placed the oxygen correctly up to his nose.. he told me that he had dreamed of having one foot in Heaven and that the perspective was different!

That has always given me a little sense of security about such things. :)

Anyway, many thanks for your Alan Devereoux update and take care..

8. Well, if you're going to have some post-op downtime
There are definitely worse movies to watch.

5. There was a show on TV last night about a heart trasplant patient that also had a changed persona
The show went on to document how some major organs store information just as the brain does. They documented many many cases of changed behavior after transplants.. Very interesting.
