Facebook is now a tool for union busting. |
|
this was posted on my friend's FB status, and he's in a union! :eyes: :wtf: :spank:
"you work for British Airways and are on strike this week, next time you see a soldier who's returned from Afghanistan make sure you tell him/her about your awful working conditions, poor uniform and low pay!!!!! (Paste this in to your status and leave it posted for at least ...an hour if you agree!)"
here's what I wrote;
"why don't we make sure those soldiers will have good paying jobs when they get back? what happens when YOUR union wants to renegotiate? are you willing to work for minimum wage with no benefits until every soldier comes home?"

4. Perhaps the troops need to organize a labor union so that they have a voice! |

5. I'm pretty sure they couldn't do anything useful a union does like make demands backed up action or |
|
inaction as doing so would be insubordination and or illegal if ordered.

8. That actually happened in the Pacific theater right after WWII. |
|
There were mass demonstrations by U.S. soldiers demanding to be sent home.

6. The most dangerous work places |
|
have been the most aggressive in union busting. Just look at the non-union coal mines and the non-union oil drillers.

And those unions make damn sure labor laws are enforced and management can't try eliminating their jobs when they get back home.
My union is one of my facebook friends.

11. There are a lot of tools on facebook, that doesn't mean facebook is a "tool" for toolery. |
|
I understand that it's de rigueur to bash facebook right now, and certainly on some grounds it is justified...
but, I mean, really- don't you think your OP is maybe a tad hyperbolic?
It's just something some half-wit put in his status update. I'm sure some people send this bullshit via email, does that mean that email is a "tool for union busting", too?
