Cops handcuff Batman, drag him away to jail

Cops handcuff Batman, drag him away to jailLooks like Batman still hasn't cleared his name after he decided to take the fall for Harvey Dent's crimes. The L.A. cops arrested him for standing on Hollywood Blvd. and posing with tourists, and he's still in jail.

Ordinarily, Hollywood Blvd is full of people in superhero and other costumes, posing with tourists, but the police have suddenly launched a crackdown on their "loitering." Among those arrested were Bumblebee (from Transformers), Catwoman, Freddy Krueger, and Edward Scissorhands. At least they let Edward Scissorhands go. The street performers say they're not bothering anyone and they don't demand tips from the tourists who pose with them — but some local merchants say some of the performers do harrass bystanders for tips

2. Ohio woman finds groundhog hiding under car hood
ATHENS, Ohio (AP) - An Ohio woman needed animal control, not a mechanic, when it turned out the thumping under her car's hood was coming from a stowaway groundhog. Rebecca Martin said she heard the noise last Tuesday while running errands with other family members in Athens in southeast Ohio.

When they pulled over in a Walmart parking lot and lifted the hood, Martin said up popped one of the largest groundhogs she'd ever seen. It then choose to burrow in near the engine, so 911 was called.

Police: Man calls 911 about mom taking his beer

A 32-year-old Pasco County man who called 911 to complain about his mother is facing criminal charges. According to a sheriff's office arrest report, Charles Dennison told a deputy that his mother took his beer and he wanted her arrested. Dennison was reportedly "very intoxicated" when the deputy arrived at the New Port Richey home.

Dennison told the deputy that he would keep calling emergency responders if his mother wasn't charged. He has been charged with making false 911 calls and was jailed on $150 bond.

It was unclear if he had an attorney.

Man attempts to steal car with no brakes

By Ryan Howard (Contact) | The Daily Journal

Published 10:53 a.m., June 2, 2010

A would-be Perham car thief ended up with a headache, no car, and an embarrassment in what turned out to be a very short time on the lam Saturday.

At 5:10 a.m. on May 29, the Perham Police Department was called about a car accident on 2nd St. NW. Upon arriving, police officers developed a clearer idea of what had happened.

A local man had seen an Audi 5000 Quattro in a residential driveway on 2nd St. The keys were in the vehicle, but, unbeknownst to the thief, the brakes were not, as the car's master cylinder had been removed by the owner in order to repair the brakes.

The thief drove a short distance before he attempted to brake, at which point the car slammed into a tree, causing the thief's head to strike the car's windshield. He was transported to the hospital upon the arrival of the police.

Man Gets Probation In Dirty Diaper Theft
Wis. Man Told Police He Likes To Wear Diapers

STEVENS POINT, Wis. -- An Amherst man accused of trying to steal dirty diapers from a home has been sentenced to 30 months of probation.

Dillon Makuski, 20, was convicted of possession of burglary tools. The Stevens Point Journal reports Makuski also must serve 200 hours of community service and undergo a psycho-sexual examination.

Makuski was detained by the homeowner after entering an Amherst home last September. A Portage County sheriff's deputy found six dirty diapers in Makuski's pockets.

The complaint said Makuski entered the house because he likes to wear diapers and thought there might be some in the house.
