2. You gotta wonder what he's been doing all these years.
He doesn't need to work. Maybe he's secretly still drawing the strip.....

3. He got out while the going was good
Waterson didn't want his creation to turn into "Cathy" or "Garfield" and I thank him immensely for that decision.

10. Cathy and Garfield
never had the relevance that his strip did.

4. as I always say when this topic comes up
It's a tragedy that the only remaining artifacts of this great strip are those godawful "Calvin pissing" decals that stupid people put ion the rear windows of their cars.

Most of them probably don't know who the fuck Calvin is.

7. Bill Watterson would slip autographed copies of his books onto bookstore shelves...
He presently lives in Cleveland and still will not grant interviews...

To this day I have a Calvin and Hobbes strip on the side of my fridge from the early nineties.

It reads:

"For your information, I'm staying like this, and everyone else can just get used to it! If people don't like me the way I am, well, tough beans! It's a free country! I don't need anyone's permission to be the way I want! This is how I am - take it or leave it!"

14. I can't find mine, but it sure has yellowed over time.
I've got it between clear plastic in a magnetic frame.

I did find this one though, reminds me of yours:

"Sometimes one should just look at things
and think about things without doing things."

~ Calvin, The Authoritative Calvin and Hobbes

2)
"What's the colony done for YOU lately? What aabout YOUR needs?"

3)
"You don't owe anybody anything! Let the others fend for themselves! Move out! Discover yourself! Express your individuality"
