Is Goodwill Industrys Discriminating or Invading Your Privacy |
|
My wife and daughter went to the local Goodwill to look for clothes for the granddaughter today. My daughter had to use the public restroom and went to ask for the key when she was told she needed to fill out a card with her name, address, phone number, weight and height as well as present ID...
She told the to stuff it....What do you think???

3. Wow. Nothing like that at the Goodwill here... |
|
...our Goodwill staff seem to genuinely care about people. Sounds like yours has been hijacked.

4. At the goodwill store nearest me, using the restroom requires walking up and turning the handle. |
|
Some of the other thrift shops around here require you to get an employee to unlock the door, but I can't think of any of the Goodwills that do, though I don't know that all of them have a restroom open to the public.

6. Sounds like they value their bathroom key! |
|
lol!
Don't worry, I've seen some places go overboard to some degree. One time recently, it was a 12" long, 4" wide piece of wood. Not something anyone was going to drag home, regardless!
When there are a limited amount of keys, sometimes the business will resort to draconian measures to make sure the keys stay around. Those keys cost a good amount, so having to replace them can get costly. If you're in an office building, and if there is only one bathroom on the floor, every business on that floor is given only one or two keys, so that can be a bit of a pain.

8. +1. Likely a very over the top reaction to lost/stolen key. HQ might be interested in their actions |

9. That's not the policy at our local one. |
|
The restroom is right off the sales floor. High visibility. Is it possible that there has been trouble--crime, vandalism etc, at the store?
