Quote of the Day
Warning, may raise ire:

Bernie Madoff appears to have none of the remorse expected of a man staring down a 150-year prison sentence.

According to a lengthy new piece by Steve Fishman in New York magazine, Madoff, who apparently pals around with a former mob boss and a spy in a federal prison in Butner, North Carolina told a fellow inmante, "F--- my victims. I carried them for twenty years, and now I'm doing 150 years."

Madoff, whose con artist bona fides seems to have turned some fellow inmates into "groupies," even indicated to other prisoners that some of his victims actually deserved to have their money taken from them. Overall, Madoff comes off as cocksure, unrepentant and a bit miffed at the world.

1. Raises ire, but not surprise in me.
Typical attitude of his ilk.

2. Well, he may be palling around with the cool guys in class (not how I'd envisioned
him doing 'time' in my fantasies, though) but he's not on one of his yachts, in one of his homes, or eating at the finest restaurants. There's some small comfort in that.

I'm sure those who he 'carried' who now have zero in their retirement accounts and savings feel compassion for his plight.

What a dick.

4. I was going to posts some thoughts.

Although it might just be better to post a song, don't know if the quote is true, or much about that guy. And I find it interesting that in the context of the OP the song is a little different, but also is the same as earlier post.

Since it seems his thoughts, and many of mine also of coarse, include biases and presumptions from perceptions. And he is probably having a tougher time then most people right now, so it is sad when things like that happen.

On a side note, there is a false doctrine that many with superiority complexes have. They think that people were put on the planet to serve them, and that all the charity and nice deeds are ways to get people to give the self claimed special people what ever they can take.

It is a dark doctrine, and requires breaking empathy, it is part of deception doctrine. It requires thinking existence is a lie, and that things like lying is how people are suppose to be. Really bad stuff, but is part of the ideas twisted about people being sheep to be sheared or slaughtered and thinking some people are suppose to get reward from that if they follow bad stuff.

 Not what I believe, but that is a choice I make, to believe existence is actually good.

Ironic thought about that song, it says Us and Them. But the whole song is about that idea being wrong.

5. You really didn't expect him to feel bad, did you?

6. Nah
I expected him to feign remorse and he might have done, if not for the fawning influence of his thuggish fellow inmates.
