Faux's Megyn Kelly: "Elton John had nothing but nice things to say about Rush Limbaugh"
Edited on Mon Jun-07-10 10:21 PM by MadBadger
"But Kelly says everyone got along very well – and slammed The View host in the process. “Joy Behar wasn’t there, I was,” she said. “And I can tell you that Elton John had nothing but nice things to say about Rush Limbaugh and the happy couple.”

Also, maybe a double date in the future? “He even invited the happy couple to come visit him and his partner in London, England,” said Kelly."

Oh boy, sounds like it was such a nice affair!!

I mean, seriously, this makes no sense.

5. Poor Ms Kelly couldn't bring herself to say "Elton and his husband"
To Megyn, he's just a partner.

Edited on Mon Jun-07-10 10:41 PM by rocktivity
which is he what he allegedly charges for private performances.

Even if I could afford it, I'd never have a rock star perform at my wedding--too many of them would be prettier than the bride!

16. sure! Why not say that!
If Rush Limbaugh paid me a million dollars for a concert, I'd spend half the concert insulting him, and then tell him I was giving the money to the Gay Mafia.

17. I don't think this is all that uncommon
Mainstream artists always have tons of fans whose personal beliefs they don't like. Just as many fans who don't like an artists' politics continue to support them because they like what they do. My guess is Elton's main concern is the check clearing :)

20. I'm not a fan. nothing against him, it's just not my type of music.
however, he's a professional entertainer. he got paid a million bucks for a couple hours work, and part of the deal surely included making nice with the guests. Are you so principled, and/or so financially secure that you'd turn down a million dollars for one night's work in your chosen profession? To be perfectly honest, were I in his place, I'd probably sing a few songs, chat up the right wingers, and laugh all the way to the bank.

24. All the people whining about Elton John sound EXACTLY like the conservatives whining
about the Dixie Chicks.

Oddly enough, I'd wager that a good portion of those whining about Elton John complained when the conservatives were whining about the Dixie Chicks.

40. No, you just see self-indulgent whining because someone did something
you (or the self-indulgent whiners in question) didn't approve of.

That's not a BIG difference, it's a just the first step along the way to demonization of someone who you liked until they did one thing that didn't fit the narrow template of what you thought they should do.

25. What is odder about this is Rush
You'd think even if he liked Elton's songs, that his "concerns" about gayness would prevent him letting Elton "influence" his guests. Elton gets the $$, but it's interesting that Rush likes his music enough to pay him a million to sing rather than pick someone to sing who fits more in with Rush's world view. IOW, Rush does not really believe his own crap. I wonder what dittoheads have to say about this.
