When they've killed off all life in the Gulf, there won't be any obstacles to offshore drilling there.
:wtf: indeed

The use of the dispersants at the well head, 5,000 feet deep, has to be allowing much of the oil to remain deep.
This oil that remains in the deep, colder waters, will not biodegrade well, as seen in the Alaska oil releases.
Oil that does make it to the surface faces sun, wave action, and heat, which speeds degradation.
On LBN the other day was a thread about how there is a tradeoff being made between the deep water species and the nearshore species. Nearshore species have so far won, and the oil has, for the most part, stayed off the beaches. Which was BP's aim all along. It makes BP look less worse if the oil is deepwater, under the horizon.

Over a million gallons.
And the product sheet says not to spray on surface water. But the sprayed about a fourth on the surface.

If they don't know how much oil is being released, how can they determine how much Corexit should be released? Are they just guessing? Or just dumping at much as can be dumped?
