NATO Hit by 13 Deaths in 24 Hours in Afghanistan

NATO says three more soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan, just one day after 10 service members died in a string of attacks across the country.

The alliance says a bomb killed two of its soldiers Tuesday in southern Afghanistan. Small-arms fire killed another in the region.

In Monday's violence, seven American, one French and two Australian soldiers were killed in separate attacks in the south and east of the country. It was the deadliest day so far this year for international forces in Afghanistan.

1. NATO losses at 24 for June

Monday was the bloodiest day of the year for international forces in Afghanistan as seven American troops, two Australians and a French Legionnaire were killed in five separate insurgent attacks strewn throughout the country.

The recent spike of bloodshed has resulted in pushing the death toll for foreign forces in the country to 24 in the month of June, including at least 14 Americans, according to a count by the Associated Press.
