The key to BecKKK's pathology: Latching onto "the Constitution".
Substitute any presumptive "eternal verity" for "the Constitution".

He harangues about it like he discovered it, or like he wrote it. Not to mention that whatever he says about it is twisted.

Today he was quoting a critic who said that anybody studying or quoting the Constitution is "part of a fringe" and being mock incredulous at the quote.

Actually, those of us who grew up indoctrinated already believed in the sacredness of the Constitution and other such "quaint" mental knickknacks as the Geneva Conventions and were shocked at the shredding of such things by Shrub-CHEENEE.

Where was BecKKK when Shrub said the Constitution is a God damned piece of paper?!1

But my premise is about the key to BecKKK's pathology: That somebody like him, running from the wreck of his life, grabs on to something that is Bigger, and Outside of Everybody's Reach, something that is beyond criticism, whether religion or whatever. That's my theory.

Am sending this as e-mail to him or via O'LOOFAH.

1. I know a couple of people who hang on every word of his, but then they are
also people who seem to have abysmal judgement in so very many ways. We're talking people who are absolutely convinced jeebus is coming down from the sky THIS YEAR to smite all unbelievers and only Sarah Palin can lead us as we fight the antichrist (President Obama.) I find people who believe everything Beckerhead says to be delusional about many things in life.

7. I know! I have Beckaholics in my life too and they are incapable of thinking.
All they can do is regurgitate what they hear on talk radio and Fox News, and of course, they never do fact checks. They are mostly conservative Christians, which is impossible because no one can be a conservative extremist and a Christian at the same time. They are opposites. I can't stand to even be around them or read what they write me. No matter how much logic or truth I put into my emails to them it's all disregarded and I get Beck talking points back in the mail. I firmly believe conservative Christians are a cult because they have all the symptoms of cult members.

I love your word "Beckerhead"!!! I've heard of peckerheads before, so I guess those who lap up every word from Beck are Beckerheads. :)

YASBTM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. Whenever anyone says "latches on" I think of a baby breast feeding.
I don't know why that is but it is true.

4. Makes sense to me!
After nursing two babies until they were 2 (those babies are now 6 and 10) "latching on" is a baby breast feeding. Forever.

5. If Fascism Comes to America, It Will Come Wrapped in the Flag & Carrying the Cross
Conservatives rob truth and turn it back on the victims of their bogus propaganda. And when they tell their lies often and loudly, people are fooled. It works and they know it. Chickens will vote for Colonel Sanders after that.

8. So true Upi402... I love your posts!
Their vile lies work because their audiences aren't the brightest bulbs on the tree. And because the people who listen to them are addicted to hatred, anger, fear and racism. I wonder how conservatives claim to be the only ones who are working, since they listen to right wing talk radio all day long? If they are listening to right wing radio while working they are cheating their employers out of 100% focus on their jobs. My guess is most of them are sitting at home, drinking beer and eating cheetos with their t-shirts covered in spilled junk food and drinks. But I believe I'm giving them too much credit.

9. The Constitution is a brilliant piece of work and worthy of respect.
But it isn't sacred. It's barely adequate, in fact, and should never be worshipped.
