Well listenign to the Discovery Program on the gulf disaster
While it is good at giving some of the technical information that helps to understand this, realize this is... making BP look VERY GOOD. So if you have trouble telling propaganda from a heavy dose of propaganda, I recommend you stay away from it. If you can tell these apart, the science is fascinating, as well as the engineering.

1. I need all the help I can get understanding the science and technology, and it's
far too late for me to believe ANYTHING positive about BP. Thanks for the review -- I have it recorded and am looking forward to watching. :hi:

2. From a science side
it is a good intro. I just can see the let's try to make BP look like heroes trying to do things under impossible conditions. And they are working under incredibly hard conditions, but heroes... hardly.

At least they are dealing with the technical issues... including, more or less, the pressures they are working with.

3. It was pretty straight narrative, but they left out quite a bit about the poor condition...
...of equipment and they might have mentioned other mistakes, and it still would have been objective and scientific.

So, yes, it left them looking like the victims of just bad luck.

Not surprised, though, coming from one of the mega-media sources.

4. They kow they will end up in court
so they are already playing the ref...

To me it was... TALKING POINT... science, science, TALKING POINT, TALKING POINT.. science, science, science.

And they left out some ahem points that would not make then look good to the viewer or the ref (err jury)

Having dealt with disasters I know what they were doing...
