AP - "Louisiana leaders want Gulf drilling to resume" - Say Its Safe Overall!
Wow! I guess Obama's imposition of a moratorium on the deep ocean oil drilling while safety is being reviewed is now being spun as showing how out of touch he is with the common LA resident! One minute, Obama is being blasted for too little regulation, now its too much again!

There is no evidence that a drilling accident can be remedied, yet Bobby Jindal is already demanding that drilling for three new rigs resume immediately! There is no evidence that the oil industry even know hows to stop a spill, yet they want to continue drilling?

NEW ORLEANS – At the same time they are venting their fury on BP over the Gulf of Mexico spill and its calamitous environmental effects, Louisiana politicians are rushing to the defense of the oil-and-gas industry and pleading with Washington to bring back offshore drilling — now.

As angry as they are over the disaster, state officials warn that the Obama administration's temporary ban on drilling in the Gulf has sent Louisiana's most lucrative industry into a death spiral.

They contend that drilling is safe overall and that the moratorium is a knee-jerk reaction, akin to grounding every airplane in America because of a single crash. They worry, too, that the moratorium comes at a time when another major Louisiana industry — fishing — has been brought to a standstill by the mess in the Gulf.

"Mr. President, you were looking for someone's butt to kick. You're kicking ours," Lafourche Parish President Charlotte Randolph said in pleading for the moratorium to end.

1. Why bother drilling when the Gulf is already a sea of oil?
Seems like the con-artist con-servatives met their goal of spoiling an entire sea. They don't need to drill for any oil when they have millions of barrels just ready for them to vacuum up from the sea without making another hole.

Someone needs to ask these Louisiana officials if we should end the moritorium on fishing, too.

2. Clueless idiots, the whole damn bunch of them
This "spill" is turning the northern part of the Gulf into an open sewer, and these morons whine about a drilling moratorium.

I swear, it seems like we're being overrun by the pod people

7. Yet, in the same breath they complain that federal government needs to more...
...but when the federal government gets tough on the oil industry, they complain about the impact on jobs. Look at DU, the federal government is attacked both for doing too much, and not enough while Republicans who advocated for the erosion of regulations get a free pass.

4. Louisiana leaders also want more booze and whores.
Obviously people are not aware of how politics is done in Louisiana. Its the same way as Mississippi but the food is not fried.

8. Then they deserve what they get, don't they?
If you're not going to face up to the havoc you're wreaking on the earth and its inhabitants, you're just going to keep on making the same fucking mistakes over and over again.

What a bunch of maroons.
